Meet the Teacher

My name is Mrs. Michelle Brantley. This will mark my seventh year teaching. I previously taught fourth grade at Cuba Elementary during the 2006-07 school year and during the fall 2007. Due to a change in my husband’s career, I relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, where I taught fourth grade and kindergarten for the Shelby County School System. In 2009, we were fortunate enough to be able return to the area, and I have been teaching fourth grade at Cuba ever since. I am excited about the upcoming year, and look forward to working with your child to help him or her be successful.

I have been married for 8 years to my husband, Will. While we do not have children, we do have a dog named Ash. Even though teaching is my job, I enjoy many other things. When I am not at school, I spend most of my time in the woods or on the water, hunting and fishing.  I also enjoy archery, running, gardening, hiking, shopping, and reading. I am a Western Kentucky native. After graduating from Dawson Springs Independent School, I received my Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Reading and Writing from Murray State University.

Each child comes to me with unique experiences, interests, and learning styles. My goal is to truly know your child well and use this knowledge to guide, support and motivate him or her towards becoming a successful student and meeting future challenges. I believe that good teaching requires continual professional development, personal reflection, and collaboration. I value parent involvement at every level and encourage you to partner with me to give your child the most powerful and joyous learning experience possible. I look forward to working with you and your child to launch a wonderful and productive school year.

Ash loves the outdoors too!
